The Story Behind BaseEdge Pro

BaseEdge Pro was born from a simple question: Why isn’t there an affordable tool to precisely measure the base edge angle?

In World Cup ski racing, hundredths of a degree decide victory and defeat. Pro teams use elaborate measuring equipment to precisely control each ski’s base edge angle. But for workshops, coaches, and ambitious racers, there was no solution — except expensive industrial equipment or inaccurate guessing.

Made in Austria

The BaseEdge Pro is designed and manufactured in Austria. Every device undergoes quality control and ships with an individual inspection certificate.

The Measuring Principle

A dial indicator combined with a hardened straight edge — the most precise mechanical measuring instruments — configured as an angle gauge. The result: 0.01° resolution, no electronic drift, no calibration issues, no batteries (only the LED backlight needs a button cell).

Our Mission

We believe precision shouldn’t be a privilege reserved for World Cup teams. Anyone who professionally prepares their skis deserves control over their base edge angle. The BaseEdge Pro makes that possible — compact, robust, and accurate to 0.01°.
